  • CALL OF APPLICATION

In September 2026, we are launching an exceptional European Union chamber theatre season. Within this program, the selected ensembles will have the opportunity to present their two nominated productions across the entire territory of the European Union—also at the participating host theatres—following a defined structural framework. In addition, they will be able to establish collaborations and co-productions with partner theatres, and take part in the closing gala, where awards will also be presented.
Applications will be evaluated by a five-member international professional committee, which will select the ensembles participating in the season. Only professional theatres are eligible to apply, preferably with productions that build on the traditions of chamber theatre and place emphasis on the essence of theatrical art, particularly the creative work of the actor and the director.
The aim of the initiative is to engage the audience of thEUter through high-quality productions that place the fundamental values of theatre at the forefront. We are seeking works that are grounded in artistic excellence, clarity of form, and depth of theatrical thinking.
It is expected that each ensemble will participate with two productions per season, of which at least one should be a contemporary work from their home country and/or a masterpiece of world literature.
Due to the representative and promotional nature of the initiative, our goal is to ensure that each participating country is represented by its strongest ensembles. Therefore, we kindly ask that each country nominate suitable ensembles based on a local professional selection process.
If this initiative has captured your interest, we kindly ask you to support the launch of the season by forwarding this call to the relevant decision-makers.
As initiators and coordinators, we undertake the full organization of the season, including coordination between participating theatres and venues, the development of the performance schedule, as well as the organization of transport, logistics, the closing gala, and the awards.
Our objective is to establish a level of professional prestige and artistic quality that will become a significant and lasting distinction—recognized both within the professional field and by audiences, with moral as well as financial value.
We kindly invite you to contact us so that we may present the detailed technical and structural framework in person.
    Yours sincerely,
    Munnich, May 2. 2026
